Research interests:

1. Application of computer science theory and alorithms to problems from artificial intelligence, especially machine learning ("computational learning theory") and knowledge representation.
2. Computer security, especially access control.
3. Computer Science Education.

NSF Theory of Computing Program

Since that time, CISE has reorganized, and changed the name of the relevant division to Computer-Communication Fundamentals, and kind of sort of abolished individual programs in favor of "clusters" of programs/areas.

In 2007, I wrote this article for the March 2007 issue of SIGACT News about my time at NSF.
