November 3, 2008: UIC-CS hosts ACM regional programming contest


UIC-CS hosted the ACM regional programming contest on Saturday November 1, 2008. Eighteen teams from eight local institutions competed at UIC along with a total of 135 total teams in the midwest regional. The first place team at UIC's site was 2nd in the region and is likely to advance to the nationals being held in Stockholm. UIC's teams placed 12th and 18th out of the 135 teams in the region and 5th and 7th out of the 18 teams at the local (UIC) site.
