Overview of Computer Science Research at UIC

Students working at the LambdaTable In addition to our teaching and service activities, the Department of Computer Science has an active research program, with external research funding exceeding $6 million annually. Our research is supported by federal and state agencies and foundations, as well as by industrial and commercial sponsors. Research projects span a broad range, from fundamental theoretical research in Computer Science to applied, multidisciplinary research involving collaborators from numerous UIC departments and other universities and national laboratories.

Research Interests of Individual Faculty Members

The research interests of individual faculty members are shown here

Research Laboratories

Research activity is centered around a set of active laboratories located in the Engineering Research Facility and the Science and Engineering Laboratories. These laboratories house significant computing, networking, and visualization resources, and serve as the research "home" for both faculty and graduate students.
