Our research group develops and implements multinuclear MRI methods for application to engineering systems. By judicious design, magnetic resonance methodologies can be made sensitive to a number of phenomena including chemical composition and both coherent (velocity, acceleration) and incoherent molecular motion (diffusion, dispersion). Using tailored MR methods and numerical simulations, we quantitatively and non-invasively study the interplay of dynamic structures, transport (flow and diffusion), and molecular transformations – whether these be biologically or chemically driven.
