Nov 10 Balanced vs unbalanced BST.

Any correct BST implementation will get full credit. If you implement a balanced BST (correctly, of course) then you get 2 extra credit points for project 2.

Nov 10 Turns out, we have several creative interpretations of the semantics of the output specifications. Here is the clarification:

A sorted, in lexicographic order list of the names of the files that, collectively, contain all the words in the input search word list. That is, for every word in the search list, all the files that contain it should be in the output file list.

To make it absolutely clear, here is an example: suppose you have file1 contains words {a, b, c}, file2 contains {a,d}, file3 contains {b,d}. Suppose the token search list is "a,c". Then the output should be "file1, file2".

Sep 16 CORRECTION: Homework 2, Q1(a). Instead of the "coefficient of x^16" it should be "coefficient of x^4". Corrected version of the homework is reposted.

Sep 16 Programming Project 1 is out. Due October 4 by 11:59pm Central.

Sep 15 For HW1, if you wrote the assumption about the sundae with no ice cream and have solved it correctly but were taken off points, please come to see TA for regrade in SEO 932 in TA's office hours (or make an appointment with TA if you are not available at that time). If you have any questions about the HW1 grade OR your grades of HW1 have been updated by Prof. Berger-Wolf, please come to see TA also.
