Robotics Team Recommendation
Hello, friends, members, students, and everyone
If anyone is looking for servos for their projects, personal or otherwise, we recommend checking out
ServoCity.com. In the past we purchased three top of the line digital servos with titanium gears for our Robot Snuff along with accessories and other gear. We never had problems with them or their products and the pricing is great. This week the team will purchase two more servos for our Robots new Arm. The servos withstood the abuse during our last year's competition and we are counting that they will do the same this year!

Earth-Moon-Earth Demonstration
Northwestern University has provided us with an opportunity to view a demonstration on communications technology. They are attempting to bounce a radio signal off of the moon in order to talk to communicate with the other side of the world. This is referred to as Earth-Moon-Earth, or EME for short. It will be a joint adventure with Northwestern leading. Everyone is free to help plan, setup, and attend the event. Only licensed amateur radio operators are able to operate the equipment as per FCC rules. There is no set date as to when UIC will be hosting this event. We are trying to gauge the interest in the demonstration . As more information is available it will be posted to our IEEE of UIC Facebook page and mailed to our members. If you have any questions about what you can do, or wish to know more about EME or amateur radio in general, please contact Will at
wfaehse@yahoo.com or attend any of our monthly meetings.
