Faculty Position

The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in Fluid/Thermal Sciences, and Design and Manufacturing related areas of Mechanical Engineering. Individuals at the associate or full professor level will also be considered with outstanding qualifications commensurate with the rank. Successful applicants are required to have an earned PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and are expected to develop and maintain an active, externally-funded research program as well as teach courses at both the undergraduate and the graduate levels.

The Department offers BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering, and currently has an undergraduate enrollment of about 600 and a graduate enrollment of about 200. Staff Position

Assistant Director of Laboratory and Departmental Operations The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at UIC seeks qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Director of Laboratory and Departmental Operations. This person will be responsible for maintaining the department’s instructional labs and overseeing building and space operations. Knowledge of engineering theories is required to operate, modify and update experiments on a regular basis. Candidates must have a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field and a minimum of two years related experience in a position involving labs and experiment supervision. Masters Degree and experience in an academic institution preferred.
