Computer Science Graduate Student Service Award

The Computer Science’s Student Service Award honors students who have made an outstanding contribution to the Computer Science Department through campus and community service. Student nominees must contribute a significant amount of time, effort and creativity to one or more department/campus and/or community service project(s). Graduate students must be enrolled during the academic year in which the award is received, be in good academic standing, must have volunteered in a department /campus and/or community service organization, and must have made a significant contribution to this organization. Such service may be as part of CSGSA or any campus wide organization such as WISE or any such organizations. Last year we gave about four such awards. Nominators should list specifics about the student’s contribution to the department /campus and/or community and organizational office held. Several Computer Science students receive this award each year.

Who should be nominated for this award?

  • Student leaders who hold executive board positions, or
  • Student members who have gone above and beyond in service to a student organization, or
  • Students who have made significant unpaid contributions to the Computer Science Department, or
  • Students who have provided significant service to community organizations
