CALL FOR PAPERS

for a special issue of the journal

ALGORITHMICA

on

Algorithmic Methodologies for processing

Protein Structures, Sequences and Networks

This is to announce a call for papers for a special issue in the journal “Algorithmica” (published by Springer-Verlag) on “Algorithmic Problems for processing Protein Structures, Protein Sequences and Protein Networks”.

Guest Editors: Piotr Berman, Bhaskar DasGupta, Jie Liang

Submission Deadline for the special issue: extended to March 15, 2006

Manuscripts are solicited for a volume of  Algorithmica” on topics concerning the development and analysis of new algorithmic techniques for processing protein sequences, structures and networks. Algorithmica is an international journal which publishes original papers on algorithms with mathematically proven performance. The thorough refereeing of the papers in this series will follow the general procedure and standards of refereeing in the journal.

The following is a non-exhaustive list of possible topics of interest for the special issue:

  • Protein sequence design
  • Protein structure prediction
  • Protein function prediction
  • Protein folding
  • Protein Networks
  • Evolution of protein sequences or structures
  • Protein subsequence or substructure comparisons

We are explicitly soliciting papers that

  • emphasize algorithmic methodologies,
  • are directly relevant to or inspired by their applications in the above areas

The Guest Editors assure a thorough and timely refereeing process.
