ALCATRAZ

"Because word spread that Capone had taken over in Atlanta, he was sent to Alcatraz" ("Al Capone"). Alcatraz is located San Francisco, California. The prison is in the middle of the bay isolated from the world, and surrounded by the deadliest cold waters of the west cost. It was almost impossible for a person to escape from Alcatraz, and when they did prisoners never made it to land. "Like all the others with full privileges, Capone lived in a nine-by-five-foot cell, so narrow he could stand in the middle and press the palm of each hand against the opposite wall" (Schoenberg 337). His life full of royalty had ended, he was back into the ghetto were he had came from. The windows hardly allowed any light and their cells had there own toilets, it was nasty. Capone had a lot of time to reflect on all the things that happened in his life. He was isolated from the world. Time in prison taught him a lesson that will mark him forever.
