The coffee table shown below was designed after a photo in a catalog. The top and all the visible sides are fashioned from a single wide board of highly figured walnut. ( The width of the board is sufficient so that one-half the width of the top, in the center, is a single board. ) When the drawers are closed it appears that there is only a single drawer, but there are actually 3 ( or 4, depending on how you count. ) The center drawer passes all the way through, to open from either side, and as the third picture below shows, there are two hidden drawers at either end of the table.
