About Me
I am a second year Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and an IGERT fellow in UIC's Computational Transportation Science program. My primary research interest is in artificial intelligence focusing on techniques related to data-mining, social-networks, security, and human-computer interaction. I received my B.S. in Computer Science with a minor in Psychology from UIC in 2006.
During my last undergraduate semester I worked with Dr. Barbara Di Eugenio (Computer Science), studying and evaluating the performance of various machine learning algorithms within the context of a novel automatic text summarization framework. Prior to my graduate studies, I had the opportunity to work for telecommunications firm Tellabs, and mobile device leader Motorola.
My research is currently focused around the multi-faceted problem of dynamic ridesharing -- specifically, developing computational solutions to the inherent social issues -- under the guidance of my advisors, Dr. Peter Nelson (Computer Science) and Dr. Abolfazl Mohammadian (Civil and Materials Engineering).
