Thanksgiving Party 1998

Statement: While I was a graduate student in Ann Arbor, I was the recepient of the kindness of a friend's family every Thanksgiving.  This was much appreciated.  As a professor, I am doing the same for foreign and other students who will not have the opportunity of sharing Thanksgiving with family.  This year, I am keeping this tradition, and expect about 60-70 students in my home.  We will have a traditional turkey/stuffing/sweet potato/ corn/pumpkin pie dinner in my home.  Guests need only bring themselves and companions (If you have not already done so, please e-mail me so we know how much food to prepare). Vegetarian food will be available.

Program: We will meet at my home (603 Forest Ave, Oak Park IL). at 12.00 pm.  We will have a Thanksgiving meal followed by a reading of the historic Plymouth Plantation documents describing the first Thanksgiving and President Abraham Lincoln's Thanksgiving Proclaimation.  We have games of darts, table tennis and various board games. Map to my home (PDF format).
