October 21, 2005: Professor Sol Shatz is the Principal Investigator on a new grant from the U.S. Army Research Office (ARO)

Professor Sol Shatz is the Principal Investigator on a new 3-year grant entitled "Model-Based Techniques and Tools to Support Analysis and Simulation of UML Diagrams." The grant is funded by the U.S. Army Research Office (ARO). The objective of the research is to define and evaluate a transformation framework to map software designs, expressed as UML diagrams, to Petri net models in order to exploit existing analysis techniques and tools. This transformation framework can enable designers to use UML as a front-end for systems engineering, which helps bridge the gap between model development and model analysis.
