April 24, 2006: Professor Lillis Chairs EDP 2006

Associate Professor John Lillis served as the organizer and General Chair for the 2006 Electronic Design Processes Symposium April 12-14 in Monterey CA. Prominent researchers from both academia and industry were in attendance to share their visions of what the next generation of design tools and abstractions should look like in order to exploit ever increasing levels of integration, meet the demand for quick time-to-market and deal with increasing uncertainty at the manufacturing level. A particular theme of the symposium was "Design Above the Register Transfer Level" with three sessions devoted to the topic of how to enable greater designer productivity by raising the level of abstraction while minimizing loss in quality of results.
