When the award-winning multi-media public affairs series Chicago Matters: Beyond Burnham launches its Global Visionaries feature this month, Chicago Public Radio listeners and Chicago public television viewers will learn about fifteen notable Chicagoans who are leading the region into the next century--starting with University of Illinois at Chicago's (UIC) Maxine Brown.

Brown, an Associate Director at UIC's Electronic Visualization Laboratory, was chosen for her role in building StarLight--North America's largest research and education networking hub--which is located in downtown Chicago.

Brown's profile will air on WBEZ 91.5 FM on Tuesday, March 17, during Morning Edition and Eight Forty-Eight.

Chicago's public television station WTTW 11 will also feature Global Visionary stories once a month during its nightly newsmagazine Chicago Tonight, starting with Brown's profile on March 17.
