March 1, 2010: TakeNote interview with CS PhD student, Habiba, to talk about her volunteer work with Vex Robotics

Habiba, our PhD student, has been working as a volunteer with the students of Vex Robotics Club at Gwendolyn Brooks middle school in Oak Park for two years now. She took the train every Wednesday afternoon, regardless of weather, to Oak Park. Last Wednesday the two Oak Park middle schools had the big event: robotics competition. Even though Habiba's school did not win, her team did: they were the only ones with an autonomous robot because they had Habiba help them understand the need for and the intricacies of programming!
