March 19, 2010: CS students receive Chancellor Student Service Award

Computer Science PhD students, Anushka Anand, Habiba, and Alberto Tretti will be receiving the UIC Chancellor's Student Service award and will be honored at a ceremony on April 13. The Chancellor?s Student Service Award (CSSA) honors students who have made an outstanding contribution to the University through campus and community service.

Anushka Anand is the current president of the Computer Science Graduate Student Association (CSGSA), secretary of the UIC Graduate Student Council, the UIC student representative on the Search Committee for the President of the University of Illinois and the unofficial President of the Women in Computer Science group.

Habiba is receiving the award for her volunteer outreach work, particularly with the Vex Robotics club of the Brooks Middle school in Oak Park.

Alberto Tretti received CSSA for his commitment and initiative in the CSGSA (where he's Treasurer) and the International Club (where he is the President).
