March 21, 2010: Austin Maliszewski was this year's winner of the 2010 Chicago City Science Fair UIC Computer Science Award


Austin Maliszewski is this year's winner of the 2010 Chicago City Science Fair UIC Computer Science Award, presented 3/21/10 at the Museum of Science and Industry. Shown is Gerry Smith, Associate Director of Minority Affairs at the UIC College of Engineering presenting Austin with an iPod touch for his research "Efficiency of Integer Factoring." Austin is a student at Walter Payton High School in Chicago.

Additionally, one of the College of Engineering awards went to a second Computer Science project, "Locating Prostate Cancer Using Image Analysis", by Saad Nasser (Northside High School). Judges at the fair were Gerry Smith, Dale Reed and Barbara Di Eugenio.
