July 2, 2010: Computer Science Department wins university?s Departmental Teaching Award

The UIC Departmental Teaching Award is given by the UIC Council for Excellence in Teaching and Learning annually to one or two among UIC?s roughly 150 academic departments. This award reflects the emphasis this department puts on providing an outstanding education to our students, and our constant updating of our program in the constantly changing field of Computer Science. Above all, it represents the excellence in teaching of our individual faculty members. Just since 2004 Computer Science has had 3 faculty win the UIC Award for Excellence in Teaching, 9 win the UIC Teaching Recognition Program Award, one win the UIC Silver Circle Award for Teaching, and one named UIC Mentor of the Year.
