December 2, 2013: Congratulations to Computer Science Distinguished Professor Philip Yu on ANOTHER 10-year best paper

Congratulations to Distinguished Professor and Wexler Chair Professor Philip Yu of the UIC Computer Science Department for receiving the IEEE Conference on Data Mining (ICDM) 10-year Highest-Impact Paper Award

This award is given for a paper from at ICDM a decade ago that has proved to have extraordinary impact.

The paper is:
Yun Chi, Haixun Wang, Philip Yu, and Richard Muntz,
Moment: Maintaining Closed Frequent Itemsets over a Stream Sliding Window,
ICDM '04, pp. 59-66.

Remarkably, this is the second such award Prof. Yu has received notification of this month. As I announced earlier,

The first-ever EDBT Test of Time award will be presented in March 2014 to Charu C. Aggarwal and Philip S. Yu for their paper:
A Condensation Approach to Privacy Preserving Data Mining. EDBT 2004, pp. 183-199.
