September 16, 2015: Congratulations to UIC Computer Science Clinical Professor on new NSF grant for CS education in Chicago Public Schools

Congratulations to Clinical Professor Dale Reed on a new NSF grant to improve Computer Science education in the Chicago Public Schools (CPS).

The focus of the project entitled ?Accelerate ECS4ALL? is on peer coaching support for high school CS teachers who are teaching the "Exploring Computer Science" (ECS) course. The long-term goal is to provide a compelling and relevant Computer Science experience for every CPS high school student. The overall amount of this new NSF award is $1 million dollars, for 36 months starting in October, and it funds a team from DePaul, CPS, Loyola and UIC. (The team is called CS4ALL within CPS.) Professor Reed is the sole UIC investigator, and $131,000 of the overall funding will come to UIC.
