May 3, 2016: UIC CS Welcomes the Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program

UIC Department of Computer Science looks forward to hosting the Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program in the Computer Science lab space this summer. UIC Computer Science has hosted the Girls Who Code program for several years but this is the first time the summer immersion program will be hosted at UIC.

The Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program is a 7-week computer science course that embeds classrooms in technology companies and universities. Students learn the fundamentals of computer science - from robotics to how to build a webpage - while gaining exposure to the tech industry and mentorship from women working in technology.

UIC Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Community Outreach Director, Edyta Dudek, will serve as the UIC administrative leader of the summer program.
