Booma Sowkarthiga Balasubramani, a Ph.D student in Computer Science, has been awarded the CRA-E (Computing Research Association - Education Committee) Graduate Student Fellowship. The CRA-E Graduate Fellow?s Program was established in 2015 to give graduate students the opportunities to contribute to CRA-E projects, engage in advocacy for mentoring undergraduate students, and promote computer science research and undergraduate education at the national level. The Fellowship selection process is very competitive and is based on research track record, academic and personal accomplishments, as well as the experience and insights into the research pipeline and student motivation. Booma is the only new Fellow selected this year, and she will be working with the CRA-E to best promote their objectives of strengthening the domestic research and graduate student pipeline.
