Student with M.S. Degree:

Minimum of 56 credits of coursework besides dissertation:

  • 32 credits of course work are awarded from MS Degree ( 12 credits for 500 level courses)
  • 24 credits of remaining course work:
    • Minimum of 16 credits of CME 500 level courses (excludes CME 596 & CME 599)
    • Remaining 8 credits of 400 or 500 level courses at UIC COE
Any course outside the COE or UIC must have academic advisor’s approval

Student without M.S. Degree

Minimum of 56 credits of coursework besides dissertation:

  • 28 credits of 500 level courses (minimum):
    • 16 credits must be CME 500 (excludes CME 596 & CME 599)
    • 12 credits remaining of 500 level courses at COE

  • 28 credits remaining: either 400 or 500 level courses in CME or COE
Any course outside the COE or UIC must have academic advisor’s approval
