MIE Grad student, Cristian Luciano's Ph.D. thesis has been nominated for the Annual Graduate College Outstanding Thesis Award. CME student, has multiple talents: professional percussionist, member of the Honors College and named 2011 Udall Scholar by the Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation.

Congratulations to the recipients of the 2010-2011 COE Faculty Research Awards NSF Trusted Computing has awarded $616,000 for three years to CS Professor Venkat Venkatakrishnan. International Biotech group names Gov. Pat Quinn 2011 "Governor of the Year."
Civil & Materials Engineering department head and professor Farhad Ansari featured in ABC News.   New 2-year $4.2 million IDOT contract to Dean Nelson and team. One of the products of this ongoing work, the regional real-time traffic map.
Computer Science department head and professor Bob Sloan featured in NBC News.   Chemical Engineering receives $599,766 NSF S-STEM grant to increase enrollment of women in Chemical Engineering.
