CyanogenMod 7 on Emulator

If you're a fan of android, you may have heard of CyanogenMod. Cyanogen has created an emulator image for CyanogenMod 7 which allows you to develop using Android API 2.3

  • I am assuming you have already installed the SDK successfully. If you have not, please install it first.
  • I am also assuming that you are using Eclipse with ADT plugin. If you are not, try to find your workaround for this.
  • NOT FOR NEWBIES! Only proceed if you know what you are doing!! I can't give support for this.

CyanogenMod Installation

  1. In Eclipse, go to Window -> Android SDK and AVD Manager
  2. Go to Available Packages
  3. Click on Add Add-on website
  4. Copy and paste this link
  5. Click Ok
  6. In third party addons, put a check next to CyanogenMod 7 by CyanogenMod
  7. Install it
  8. Once finished installing, go to Virtual Devices
  9. Click new and create a new AVD called Cyanogen using the CyanogenMod Target
  10. In hardware in the same screen, add two properties. "Device RAM Size" and "Max VM Application Heap Size" should be 192
  11. You should be done with Market and all!
