Helpful Hints

Use this space to add helpful hints about homeworks etc. To create a new page, use the 'create new topic' link on the left, then add a link to it on this page, like this.

By the way, when editing wiki pages, you may find that the 'raw edit' function is a lot easier to work with than the well-meaning but rather cranky WYSIWYG editor.

This might drive you nuts if you don't know to look for it. Particularly, when saving binary files, your files may show up as inaccurate facsimiles of the file you are downloading if you simply dump to the file using: fprintf(file,"%s",buf)

Instead, consider dumping each individual character to the file instead of the buffer all at once (%c) or use a binary write instead of a string function like fprintf. Clearly the latter is the better option but both work.
