Getting Started

Overview

SEO 1000 and SEO 1325 are reserved in Google Calendar using resource calendars. This page will help you to get your Google account setup to use the SEO 1000 and SEO 1325 resource calendars.

Obtain a Google account

A Google account will be needed to reserve the rooms. You may create a Google account here. Alternatively, you may use your UIC Google Apps account. You can find more information about activating your UIC Google Apps account at:

http://www.uic.edu/depts/accc/google/

Become a member of the conference room Google group

Please send an email to pbeltr1@uic.edu with the following information:
  • Name
  • The email address of the gmail account you will be using to reserve the rooms

Add the resources to your Google Contacts



  • The calendar resources are now in your contacts as "SEO1000" and "SEO1325"

You may view the calendars at the following URLs:
* When you have navigated to one of these URLs you may add these calendars to your personal Google calendar view by clicking on the button at the bottom right corner of the screen

You're now ready to start using the resource calendars!



How to Reserve Conference Rooms SEO 1000 and SEO 1325

Please read the Getting Started page before proceeding

Viewing the calendars for SEO 1000 and SEO 1325

First view the calendar to find an open time slot. You may view the calendars at the following URLs:
* When you have navigated to one of these URLs you may add these calendars to your personal Google calendar view by clicking on the button at the bottom right corner of the screen

Creating an event and adding your event to the SEO 1000 or SEO 1325 calendar

  • Log into your Google account and go to your calendar.
  • Create an event by navigating to the date and selecting the time slot. Click on "Edit Event"

  • Enter in the details of your event. In the Description Field please provide the following information:
    • Short description of the event
    • Name
    • email address
    • phone number

  • In the "Add Guests" field start typing in "SEO1000" or "SEO1325" (depending on which room you want to reserve).

  • It will auto populate as you type. Select the room and it will be added to your guest list. When you click on "Save" your event will be added to that calendar.
