Zhichun Zhu, ECE assistant professor, has been awarded a five-year, $400,000 National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development Award to investigate the architecture for building this next generation of computers.
Sudip K. Mazumder, ECE associate professor, has received his 4th patent; Fuel-cell based power generating system having power conditioning apparatus. Distributed power-conditioning and control approaches that eliminate the need for separate power stages for fuel-cell and battery/energy-buffer units, thereby increasing power density and reducing cost, and ensures sustained and high energy-conversion efficiency by dynamic power management and maximum power-point tracking.
