Daniel Ayala
I received my PhD from the Computer Science department at the
University of Illinois at Chicago, where I was an NSF-IGERT fellow of the Computational Transportation
Science program at UIC. I currently work as Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Lewis University.
My research interests lie in mobile data management and applications for improving urban transportation
systems. Most of my PhD work was concentrated on designing
algorithms and applications for improving vehicular parking in urban
settings. My advisor was Prof. Ouri Wolfson. I was also co-advised by Prof. Jie
Lin (CME) and Prof. Bhaskar
DasGupta. Here is a copy of my CV.

Software
SFPark Simulation Software: sfparksim.zip:
The code in this zip file is used for using data from
the SFPark database to
simulate vehicles that move across an area of San Francisco
to search for available parking spots. This simulation system is used for
testing possible algorithms that search for parking spaces around
Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. If you are interested in more information
about the system, you can contact me by email. I can also give you access to the
data that was used in our experiments.
