History

The Olympic Games originated in ancient Greece were held from 776 B.C. to A.D.393. Athletes from all Greek city-states joined the festivalsat Olympia. The modern games began in 1896, with 13 countries and 311 athletes taking part in the competition for encouring the world peace and friendship.
The right to host an OLympic Games is awarded by the International Olympic Committee(IOC). Here lists the hosting cities:
