Grading

This policy is subject to change at any time for any reason.

There will definitely be one in-class midterm; there may or may not be a second midterm. This/these will count 30-45% of the grade.

There will be an in-class final counting for about 35-50% of the grade.

There will be frequent problem sets. The problem sets will be worth a total of 10-20% of the grade.

However, the problem sets are really much more important than that, because they are how you learn the material.

If you do not work on almost all the problem sets, then do not expect to pass the course.

There may be one or two computer implementation assignments; they will count about the same as a regular problem set.

Late homework will not be accepted, because solutions will often be given on the day the problem sets are due. They will receive a grade of 0.
