Prerequisites

I am assuming a knowledge of algorithms from a typical senior-level undergraduate algorithms course such as EECS 460 or MCS 401.

There will be an in-class quiz for 20-45 minutes covering undergraduate algorithms during our second class meeting. It will count the same as one homework assignment. It's main purpose is to direct students who do not have adequate background into EECS 460 or MCS 401.

There is no specific math course required, just a moderate amount of "mathematical maturity."

We may do a little programming or we may do none at all, but some programming experience is probably essential.
