EECS 101
Machine Problem 1

Due Date: September 10, 1998

For the first assignment for EECS 101, you will have to search the web for some information. This assignment is like an electronic scavenger hunt. You will have to answer ten questions, which are given below. The best way to complete this assignment is to use the different search engines and search using keyword(s) derived from the questions.

You are to submit the assignment via email. You must mail the assignment to the EECS 101 instruction account. Its email address is:

i101@eecs.uic.edu

Submissions to any other account will be ignored and deleted. You do not have to send your answers from your EECS account, but this is preferred. If you submit the assignment multiple times, only the last submission will be graded. Therefore, make sure that you have answers to all ten questions before making a submittal.

All email messages can have some subject heading. The subject heading for this assignment MUST BE "EECS 101 MP1 Submittal". If you email does not have this subject, you will lose points for the assignment. Also you email message MUST include your name, student ID number (social security number), and your lab day, time and number (refer to the EECS 101 home page for your lab number).

Finally, with all answers, you MUST include the exact web address of the page that contains the information you are submitting. This means that you will need to write down the name of the web server (or machine) on which you found the information and the page's location. For example, this page's web address is:

//www.eecs.uic.edu/~i101/mp1.html
