Create your own home page

Create your own Home Page

Due Date: Thursday 1/24/2002 at 11:59 pm

There are no constraints here: your network identity is in your own hands. Once you create your home page, the CS Department will automatically make it available to the world. You are free to look as brilliant (or stupid) as you choose. Needless to say, however, you must steer clear of obscenity, slander, copyright violation, and the like. (See the EECS Department Computer Usage Policy statement for more information).

Your page must contain the following (you may do more than this):

  1. a title (preferably your name)
  2. your name somewhere in the body of the page
  3. your e-mail address
  4. your day and time of your lab, with your TA's name
  5. two paragraphs about yourself (where you're from, what you're interested in, etc.). Remember a paragraph is a collection of multiple sentences.
  6. a picture of yourself (you can scan it in - there is a scanner in the CS computer lab in SEL 2260)
  7. another picture, grabbed from somewhere on the web, with a link to the page that you grabbed it from. Be sure to state the web site were you got this picture from, otherwise you could be accused of plagerism. These pictures should not be modified and do NOT grab copyrighted images.
  8. a link back to the CS 101 home page.
  9. at least three additional links to other Web pages on the Internet reflecting your interests

Grading is straighforward. It will be out of a maximum of 50 points.

One or more misspelled words will also cost you five points. If your page is not accessible, you will receive zero (0) points for the assignment. This is the second easiest assignment of the course, and should be an automatic fifty points for you. Remember: we will not accept late assignments.

To electronically hand in your assignment, use the digital drop box for CS 101 in CourseInfo. Use the description of MP1 to identify your file.
