1996 Atlanta Olympic Games


The 1996 Atlanta Centennial Olympic Games, 10,700 athletes from 197 nations competed in 37 different sport disciplines through 271 events, began with the Opening Ceremony on July 19,1996 and concluded following 16 days of competition on August 4, 1996.More than 2 million visitors came to atlanta for the Games and 3.5 billion people -- two-third of the worlds population -- watched the television coverage of the Games, which spanned 3,000 hours.
