Both the IEEE and Computer Society are international organizations which have already established strong global presence. However, there is still large room for improvement. The Society has great opportunities to grow its membership and geographical units in emerging regions, and should not be willing to take the second place of global communities leadership for computer-related professionals, students and entrepreneurs.
- We should internationalize our services and programs, particularly the training courses, certification programs, and career development resources, making them more localized for regions where English is not the primary language.
-
We should help our members excel in their professional, academic and entrepreneurial efforts locally, making them and their society membership role models for peers. We should also incorporate more member opinions from emerging regions in our strategic plan making.
- We should encourage, promote and deepen intersociety collaborations with regional computer-related societies and organizations, through which to result in mutually beneficial situations and deliver maximized benefits for our and their members.
